AXL ROSE On Swedish Arrest: 'They Loved Me So Much They Wanted Me To Stay'
June 29, 2006At GUNS N' ROSES' gig in Oslo Wednesday night (June 28),frontman Axl Rose addressed the the hotel brawl that landed him in a Swedish jail earlier in the week.
"They loved me so much they wanted me to stay," he said from the stage, according to the Norwegian newspaper VG.
The song "Patience" was introduced with Rose saying, "And now something you need when rent-a-cops go bad."
According to www.side2.no, an invitation had been sent to models prior to the concert from an Oslo agency: "We're looking for models that can appear at the GUNS N' ROSES concert and the afterparty tomorrow night. You will receive VIP passes, be backstage with the band, everything free."
The models were seen being led backstage prior to the show and taken back into the audience for the concert.
Meanwhile, Sweden's Aftonbladet is reporting that GN'R's tour manager paid the Berns Hotel in Stockholm for the damage done by Axl to an antique mirror and an old vase during Tuesday's incident.
"It was handled very professionally," hotel manager Joachim Olausson tells Aftonbladet.
